Gentle Mirror is a private journaling app for parents. We designed it so your reflections stay yours.
Nothing, by default. Gentle Mirror has no accounts, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. Your journal entries, settings, and progress are stored only on your device. We cannot read them, and they are never uploaded to our servers.
If you use the optional AI Insights feature (unlocked after 10 entries), the text of your recent reflections is sent securely (HTTPS) to an AI service to generate a short, supportive summary. This text:
If you never tap "Generate Insights," your entries never leave your device.
The optional privacy lock uses Apple's Face ID / Touch ID. Biometric data is handled entirely by iOS — the app never sees, stores, or transmits it.
Daily reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. No notification data is sent to us.
Your data lives on your device for as long as you keep it. You can erase everything at any time with Settings → Clear All Data, or by deleting the app.
Gentle Mirror is intended for adults (parents and caregivers). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
Because we do not collect or store your personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf — you have full control on your device. If you have questions about your rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other privacy laws, contact us.
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will be noted in the app's update notes.

By downloading or using Gentle Mirror, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Gentle Mirror is a personal journaling app for parental reflection. It is not medical advice, therapy, mental-health treatment, or a substitute for professional care. AI-generated insights are supportive observations only — they may be inaccurate and should never be relied on for health, parenting, legal, or safety decisions. If you are in crisis, contact a qualified professional or local emergency services.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the app.
You own your journal entries. They are stored on your device, and you are responsible for backing up your device if you want to preserve them. Deleting the app or using "Clear All Data" permanently erases your entries — we cannot recover them.
You agree not to misuse the app, including attempting to disrupt the AI insights service, probe or breach its security, or use it for any unlawful purpose.
The optional AI Insights feature transmits your recent reflection text to an AI service to generate a summary (see our Privacy Policy). The feature is provided "as is" and may be modified, interrupted, or discontinued at any time.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NSY LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the past twelve months (or USD $10 if greater).
We may update the app and these terms from time to time. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance. The current version will always be available at this page.
We may suspend or terminate access to online features (such as AI Insights) if you violate these terms. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which NSY LLC is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Thanks for using Gentle Mirror, a private daily reflection journal for parents.
When reporting a problem, it helps to include your iPhone model, iOS version, and a short description of what happened.
Only on your device. Nothing is uploaded to a server. See our Privacy Policy.
Write 10 reflections. After that, an Insights card appears on the Home screen.
Settings → Privacy Lock. The app will then require Face ID / Touch ID whenever you open it or return to it.
The lock uses your device's Face ID / Touch ID with passcode fallback. If biometrics fail, use your device passcode when prompted.
Settings → Daily Reminders → pick a new time.
Settings → Clear All Data erases everything permanently. Deleting the app does the same. We cannot recover erased entries.
Entries are included in your normal iPhone backup (iCloud or computer backup). In-app export is on our roadmap.
